Which payment methods are accepted?

As of January 1, 2024 we are a cashless facility. We no longer are able to accept cash or check as payment for tickets, field trips, or merchandise. We ask that you plan accordingly and bring credit/debit cards or mobile wallets (such as Apple Pay, Google Pay, or Samsung Pay) if you wish to make purchases at our facility.

We accept Visa, Mastercard, Discover, and American Express

Our no-cash policy has been established by Marquette Senior High School administration.

As we are part of Marquette Area Public Schools, we are required to adhere to their policies, including the directive not to accept cash payments. This policy ensures the continuity of our operations.

What happens if an event is canceled?

Event cancellations are a rare occurrence and will be avoided whenever possible. However, we reserve the right to cancel an event for any reason. If a cancellation occurs, a full refund will be issued.

Notification of the cancellation and refund will come to the email address used to purchase tickets. Reasons for cancellation include but are not limited to things such as inclement weather or staffing issues due to illness.

When do the doors open for an event?

Doors open 15 minutes prior to the show start time. No late entry. No refunds.

Please plan accordingly and arrive at least 10 minutes prior to the show start time. Doors lock at show start.

To protect the safety and provide the best possible experience to all of our guests, you will not be allowed to re-enter if you must leave the show after it has begun.

Unredeemed tickets are invalidated once a show has begun and will be considered a donation to the planetarium if not checked-in before the show start time.

Are tickets refundable?

No, we generally do not offer refunds on purchased tickets. However, depending on the circumstances, we may make an exception to this policy at our discretion.

Are tickets transferable?

Yes! Feel free to pass your scannable tickets on to someone else or give them the name you ordered them under and we’ll be able to look them up at the door.

Enter the Shiras Planetarium through the auxiliary gym entrance (door #11) at the southeast corner of Marquette Senior High School (1203 W Fair Ave, Marquette, MI 49855).
